Meet Bridget Dulek From Common Ground's Administrative Team

At Common Ground, we believe it's our people that makes our team great. We're lucky to have a team of compassionate counselors, along with our administrative team who serve as the glue that keeps everything running smoothly.

This February, we welcomed Bridget Dudek to the Common Ground family as one of our Administrative Assistants.

With education from Mayo High School and DeVry University, Bridget used to work in the elementary school setting until she went back to school for a degree in accounting. After working in retail, she found her way to Common Ground to help others on their journey to find recovery.

We sat down with Bridget to learn a little more about her passion for the field:

Why are you passionate about working in the treatment environment?
"No matter what job I've had in my life, it has always been about helping people in some way. My parents got me involved in volunteer work at a hospital when I was 13 years old to keep me out of trouble and away from boys.  Not only did it do that but it taught me how to care about others no matter who they are."

What’s your favorite thing about Common Ground?
"The staff is helpful and friendly and welcomed me in as a part of the team."

What advice would you give to someone struggling with addiction today?
"With any struggle in life it is best to remember to take one step at a time, one moment at a time and one day at a time because - "Only one link of the chain of destiny can be handled at a time.” – Sir Winston Churchill"

What are your hobbies?
"I have many hobbies because I get bored with one thing if I do it too long (Not that I am great at any one thing but like to try my best at everything) ... I sew, crochet, bake cakes, woodwork, construction, paint, cross stitch, scrapbook, or any craft that looks interesting to try."

Favorite words of wisdom?
"If you want it, you are going to have to get it because no one is going to give it to you."
