Meet Emiy Vitto, Common Ground’s Billing Specialist

Happy Friday! This week, meet Emily Vitto, Common Ground’s billing specialist. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again — our work wouldn’t be possible without the hard work of our administrative team, Emily included.

Emily attended Westby High School and Ultimate Medical Academy, where she received her Associate of Science degree in Medical Coding and Billing.  Prior to joining Common Ground, Emily was a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for 12 years, also working in an administrative role in the military for 4 years.

As a coding and billing specialist, she worked first in a chiropractic office, then for a company that helps elderly and disabled clients. Emily has been with Common Ground since February 2018.

We sat down with Emily to learn more about her passion for her work:

Why are you passionate about the field of alcohol and drug treatment?
“I have watched several people that I am very close to struggle with alcohol and drugs. I’ve also witnessed several people end up in the ICU because of addiction, and some who didn’t make out. I also wanted to be a part of a company that would make a difference and offer services to those who want to get out but don’t know how.”

What’s your favorite thing about Common Ground?
“I love that Common Ground is passionate to help those who need help the most. The services that this company offers are extraordinary and supportive. Common Ground is family, and everyone treats you as such. It is simply amazing how God touches every part of our team.”

What advice would you give to someone struggling with addiction today?
“Take it one day at a time and focus on today.”

What are your hobbies?
“Spending time with my family, reading the word of God (Worship), and swimming, horseback riding, watching football (Go Packers!), and spending time with my cats.

Favorite words of wisdom?
“Often people who criticize your life are usually the same people that don’t know the price you paid to get where you are today!”
