Common Ground is a treatment provider with locations across Southeast Minnesota, including both residential and outpatient services. We are pleased to announce that applications are now open for Spring semester interns — and all internships will be paid.

Common Ground offers a paid internship program for students and aspiring Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors (LADC) and mental health practitioners. Internships at Common Ground are designed to provide students with the best training possible, equipping them for a successful career in the field of alcohol and drug counseling

Throughout their time with Common Ground, interns will experience opportunities to facilitate group sessions, conduct chemical health assessments and more, in addition to working on a multidisciplinary team at our four sites across Southeast Minnesota.

Take it from one of our past interns directly:

I wanted to let you all know how much I enjoyed my internship at Common Ground. You guys have such a special team and it was a pleasure to work with all of you. Throughout my internship, I felt very supported and encouraged. I think you guys do a wonderful job welcoming people into the group and treating them as your peers.

Again, I appreciate the time I spent with Common Ground and the skills and wisdom you all so graciously gave. You are all amazing counselors and people, and it is reflected in your caring attitudes, constant desire to help others, and acceptance of your clients and peers.

Common Ground has locations in Rochester, Red Wing and Winona serving clients through outpatient treatment and medium- and low-intensity residential treatment services. All locations are accepting internship applications, so when you apply please designate which location you are interested in.

Choose Common Ground for your internship experience and learn about the full continuum of care for substance use disorder treatment and recovery. We look forward to meeting you!
